The Comet 51S’s deck is dominated by low, compact coachroof that opens into a large cockpit as well suited to accommodating racing crews as guests in perfect comfort. Owners may choose between a single large wheel or a twin wheels with a fixed sheet point.
The versatile spaces and modern lines of the Comet 51 S have stimulated the imaginations of both clients and architects alike. The result is that the yard is offering each new owner the chance to personalise the interiors to suit their tastes and requirements. The photographs featured here depict three different versions ranging from the very classic to the ultramodern. That said, however, each Comet 51 S has its own story to tell. The saloon is large and bright. The 8/10-seater saloon communicates with the chart are where there’s plenty of room for electronics and entertainment equipment, such as a large screen LCD TV. The master cabin forward boasts a double berth and en suite head. An L-shaped galley and two spacious guest cabins with the second head complete the picture.
The first model in the Sport series, the 51 S is as sporty by nature as it is by name. Its most striking feature is a coachroof so low it almost looks bi- dimensional. The latter’s narrow, crack-like windows are reminiscent of the aggressive shape of a shark’s eye. Freed of any rating rule pressures, the hull lines encompass avant-garde features such as a vertical bow, designed to maximum length and an open transom. No compromises have been made on performance either: the bow sections are very slender indeed to reduce drag and enhance the 51S’s movement over the waves. The appendages, on the other hand, have been lengthened and honed for maximum efficiency. This is a medium-light displacement craft aimed at delivering top class performance without imposing any restrictions on furnishings or systems.
