The Comet 36 cruiser is a beautifully crafted production boat perfect for owners who demand a sporty temperament and good performance. However, it is also an excellent cruiser, offering exceptional stability in terms of both weight and forms, making it perfectly suited for a shorthanded crew.
The hull, characterised by tight but balanced lines with a big stern and subtle overhangs, melds beautifully with the deck and its low, nicely profiled coachroof. The latter in turn leaves room for convenient gangways and also allows the sail controls running to the cockpit to be tucked away out of sight. The sun pad forward of the mast is unique for the category too while the Comet 36’s 9/10 fractional rig offers the possibility of converting the genoa to a selftacking jib. The interiors are large and very well finished. There is a choice of layouts too, in line with Comar tradition. At the request of sportier owners, the yard has even created a Sport version with an open stern and a more generous sail plan. The result is an even sportier looking 36 that delivers genuinely thrilling performance without compromising the very factors that have made it such a widely admired and successful model.
